PHNOM PENH – KAMPONG THOM - SIEM REAP TOUR - 6 Days/5 Nights

 

DAY 1: ARRIVAL / PHNOM PENH

Arrive in Phnom Penh international airport, you will be met & greeted by your tour guide and transferred to a centrally located hotel for check-in.

In the afternoon, take sightseeing to the most remarkable sites of Phnom Penh including, Royal Palace, Silver Pagoda, and National Museum. Continue to Wat Phnom where the history of Phnom Penh started. At the evening, have a nice walk along the river where you can enjoy a beautiful sunset.

 DAY 2: PHNOM PENH SIGHTSEEING           

In the morning, visit Genocide Museum Tuol Sleng (former prison during Khmer rouge rule on 1975-1978). Move to Killing Field Choeung Ek where prisoner is transferred for execution.

In the afternoon, enjoy shopping or exploration the city at Russian Market and Central market.

DAY 3: PHNOM PENH / KAMPONG THOM / SIEM REAP        

In the morning, overland drive for Siem Reap with 314km, on the way, stop at Skun village, where the villagers sell fried spiders (tarantula) and crickets. Arrive Kampong Thom before noon, visit Sambor Prei Kuk which was the capital lasted back to 7th century of the Khmer.

Continue to Siem Reap, en route, visit Kampong Khleang, the largest fishing community on the great lake Tonlé Sap, for visiting the stilt houses, the fishing method, smoked-fish production, floating village etc…

Arrive Siem Reap in the late afternoon, then transfer to the hotel for check-in. Free at own leisure to discover the city.

 DAY 4: SIEM REAP ANGKOR SIGHTSEEING   

In the morning, visit a jungle temple, Ta Prohm, which is embraced by the roots of enormous fig trees, it is well-known as Tomb Raider filmed inside. Continue to Tanei, another temple in the jungle and it’s inaccessible by car where we can trek and spend around half an hour for this treasure in the forest (it’s very peaceful). Walk along the west gate along the forest till reach the east entrance of Ta Keo temple and enjoy the view from the top.

In the afternoon, explore to the kingdom of Angkor by visiting the last capital of Khmer Empire, Angkor Thom via the South Gate, the giant stone faces city temple of Bayon, Baphoun, Phimeanakas, the Royal Palace, the Elephant Terrace and the Leper King Terrace. In the late afternoon, we climb up to the top of Phnom Bakheng for sunset view over Angkor Area.

 DAY 5: SIEM REAP ANGKOR SIGHTSEEING

In the morning, visit Angkor Wat, the most incredible temple and the largest religious site in the world.

In the afternoon, visit Banteay Srei, the exquisite ‘Women’s Citadel’. On the way back, have a nice walking along the typical village of Badak, where you can experience the daily life of Cambodian in the countryside, plantation around the village for the daily consumption and the houses on the stilts.

 DAY 6: SIEM REAP / DEPARTURE

In the morning, visit Les Artisans D’ Angkor where you can see their stone and wood carving workshops. Then you will move to local markets for shopping. Continue to Silk farm where we can learn the technique to produce natural Cambodia silk clothes and accessories.

Free at own leisure till time to transfer to airport for departure flight for the next destination.
